XR CIG: Evaluating Extended Reality Experiences

For this CIG meeting, the speakers addressed the topic of evaluation and how to assess the impact of extended reality experiences for learners. Our presenters for this session included Dr. Maria Keckler, director of International Affairs, and Dr. Sean Hauze, director of Instructional Technology Services, both of San Diego State University​.

Dr. Keckler’s talk focused on the importance of empathy in the curriculum, and how immersive experiences help to foster the development of empathy in nursing students relative to 2D videos.

Dr. Hauze shared strategies to support the scholarship of teaching and learning and how to build collaborations, both staff and faculty and cross-departmental.
